A broad spectrum antibiotic, it is used to treat uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in females. About 150 million females suffer from UTIs each year making it the second most infectious disease accounting for 25% of all infections.

The main infections treated by fosfomycin are those caused by E. coli. The female just has to take one sachet of fosfomycin after constituting it in water.
